No Wipe or Season: what’s the difference on WAK?
On WAK, there are several types of servers available. Among these, No Wipe and Season servers offer two very different ways to play ARK: Survival Ascended.
The relevant WAK servers
- No wipe: PvP NoWipe and PvE Legacy (formerly PvE NoWipe).
- With a wipe: PvP Season, which wipes every other Friday, and PvP Solo, which wipes every Wednesday evening.
The final rankings for each PvP season remain available on the website, in the leaderboards (‘Past Seasons’) and in each player’s personal rankings.
No Wipe
A No Wipe server is one on which your progress is not reset.
Your character, your dinosaurs, your base, your resources and your progress can therefore be retained over the long term.
The aim is to allow players to build a lasting adventure, develop their base and help their tribe progress without having to start over regularly.
Why choose No Wipe?
No Wipe is particularly suited to players who want to:
- Build a base for the long term
- Keep their dinosaurs and progress
- Develop their tribe gradually
- Play without having to start afresh every season
- Take their time to progress
The Season
A Season server operates on a seasonal basis. At the end of a season, a wipe is carried out so that players can embark on a new adventure.
The idea is to put players on a level playing field and give the community a fresh start.
Each new season therefore allows players to restart their progression, discover new strategies and set out once more to conquer the maps.
Why choose the Season?
The Season is particularly well-suited to players looking for:
- A regular fresh start
- A fresh competitive experience
- A server where players start afresh together
- A shorter, more intense progression path
- New objectives every season
No Wipe or Season: which to choose?
The choice depends mainly on your playstyle.
No Wipe: ideal if you want to build and progress over the long term without losing your progress.
Season: ideal if you enjoy fresh starts, competition and the idea of embarking on a new adventure alongside the whole community.
